alrightie...
as you all might know, i am now wokring on this MOM's survey job for the whole of JULY...*probably..*
the survey has got something to do with the employment situation in Singapore..
it has been great fun doing this survey..
not the fun fun..
but the fun in which you see all sorts of people in your neighbourhood..
before, you might think that your neighbourhood is peaceful and quiet and friendly, without any threat..
THINK AGAIN..
it may not be as friendly and nice as you though it will be...
this surveyor job really showed me the flip side of the coin...
there are of course kind and considerate people, but there are also peeping-toms..
well, not exactly those i-want-to-peep-at-your-underwear's peeping toms..
but those who will look through the peephole at the door and watch you..
watch you getting frustrated at the door...
watch you waiting aimlessly at the door...
watch you ringing the door bell and knocking on the door...
watch you till you retreat from that house...
ya... many many watch-yous...
well.. there are also people who will slam their door at your face WITHOUT even looking at you..
or even.. keep rejecting you eventhough you are from the ministry...
smiling and smiling and smiling...
and...
*Pummp!!* door slammed...
all sorts of people...
interestingly... dejecting...
i am not trying to damn anything... but i am telling truths that i see when doing this job which is very crucial..
it not only trains your determination and willingness to finish the job..
it also trains your inter-personal skill as a presenter and conductor...
the way you talk can affect those doing the survey...
they can be cold and mean.. but if you show enough sincerity.. they can be very cooperative too..
by the way.. have a listening ear eventhough you may not know how to solve the problem...
the most important character-moulding factor is that... face your own music..
apologise even when it is not really your mistake..
TRAINS YOUR NERVES AND TOLERANT-METER..
very important..
i like this job..especially when we do Personal Visits to those surveyees' houses...
talking face to face is better than through the telephone...
i guess people can handle situations better when talking face to face...
at least we can see their reactions...
well, the best thing that i like about this job is that... if someone is not cooperative..
i can SLAM them with my foul words...*ermmm... under my breathe when i walk away la!!*
oh..
how i love it..
HAHA!
anyway..
i've got a long way to go...
persevere... and i will see light at the end of the tunnel...
